Droidian eMusic 3.0.2 Software Free Download

IMPORTANT: Update November 21:

eMusic.com just changed their website design and broke download functionality in this app. I have looked into this and believe there is no easy fix. I am reaching out to the eMusic.com team for assistance, but until I hear back, downloads have been disabled (the "buy" button has been removed).

This app lets you browse, search & purchase (up until recent eMusic.com changes broke download support) music/audiobooks from eMusic.com to your Android device. Both complete albums and single tracks can be downloaded. Listen to audio samples when available. All albums and audiobooks are available as ordinary mp3 files from the eMusic.com store. eMusic is the largest unencrypted audiobook store on the web.

In order to use this app to download music, you must have or create a paid eMusic account. This is NOT an app to get free music.

This is an unofficial open-source app. The developer is not officially associated with eMusic in any way.

Downloaded music and audiobooks are automatically added to the Android music player library. The app does not contain a fully-integrated music/audiobook player (playback is limited to samples). I recommend mortplayer as a great Android audiobook player.

PLEASE email me if anything is not working or if you have suggestions. I try to respond quickly to any queries. However, please note that because the developer is not officially associated with eMusic, the continued usability of this app is subject to factors outside the developer's control.

If you are outside of the USA, please set your region in the preferences (Press Menu on the main screen). If your country is not there, and none of the countries listed work for you, send me an email and I can try to add your country in the next update.

What to do if your download fails? Long press on the track in the download manager list that has failed and select "retry" then press the download button at the top to restart the downloads. If you accidentally cleared the downloads, press the Menu button in the download manager and then press "emx files" to reload your purchased album. If we cannot resolve your issue, you must contact eMusic customer service at http://www.emusic.com/contact/index.html to ask for your credits to be restored.

Explanation of Permissions Required:

NETWORK communication FULL INTERNET ACCESS

This one is pretty obvious - We need internet access to browse the eMusic catalog and to download tracks.

STORAGE
MODIFY/DELETE USB STORAGE content MODIFY/DELETE SD CARD CONTENTS

We need access to the USB (SD-card) storage in order to store downloaded tracks, to buffer samples during playback and to cache album art.

SYSTEM TOOLS
PREVENT DEVICE FROM SLEEPING

We need this permission to prevent the device from sleeping during the middle of an album download (users expect the download to continue in the background). We immediately remove this restriction on the device as soon as a download is finished. Please let me know if you have evidence the app is using too much battery.

-On November 20th, eMusic.com released a new website design which has broken support for purchases and downloads using this app. I was as surprised by this change as all other eMusic users.

I have investigated the problem and believe I will be unable to restore downloads without the help of the eMusic.com team.

This version disables the buy button until download support is restored.
